I am a bit confused. I am setting up an Intranet on a machine (win2k) within our organization that is NOT using IIS5.0 for anything. I installed IIS and copied over a website for internal use only. I have tried many different settings for suthentication and I am always prompted for a username/password. Since this is going to be accessed internally or via a VPN there is no need to enter a password again. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are you using Anonymous authentication? If so check which account IIS is using when acting as the anonymous user. It's usually IUSR_servername but you can set it to another account if you wish. Check that this user has NT permissions to access the files and folders that make up your web site.

If you are NOT using anonymous access then you need to check that individual users have NT persmissions as above.
