I am new to the whole web/intranet development circle and my employer wants me to develop a corporate intranet site...My first question is how do I do this?? I want to develop it using ASP/ASP.NET and of course IIS. I am very well versed at developing desktop applications with VB6 so I can grasp VBScript fairly easily and I know HTML pretty well. I have been experimenting with development and want to know how I can have someone enter instead of I don't know how to do this...any help as well as any tips would be greatly appreciated

well if you have a domain you can create a dns entry for internal use only, or you can just hack/whack your hosts and lmhosts files on all the machines for translation of the domain name, for a while i was tired of all those microsoft pages that kept loading in the days of old and i changed my hosts file to make MS.com relative to my recycle bin [lol] other than that i'd say google up some asp tutorials and you should be squared away

also for the question about dns stuffs, i also noticed that intranet was a subfolder of localhost, you'd also need to make a domain mask in IIS to patch intranet.domain.com to server/intranet
