internet stops pinging over LAN after a while using winxp

Can someone please help me. I have been running WinXP now for the last week or two, and all of a sudden in the last two days i have encountered a wierd problem where my internet connection (through a router) stops pinging after about a half hour of perfectly normal and consistant functionality. I am wondering if anyone knows of any issues with kazaa lite because it seems that around the time i installed that - that this all started happening. I have tried uninstalling it and it still happens so i was thinking it may not be the problem. thanks for any help.
