Hello There,

I have a 3640 router connected to the internet on S1/0 on a public IP address configured with the ip nat outside command.

My inside ethernet interface is configured to nat the entire ethernet subnet by using overloading on the outside interface...so far....so good.

i have a default route set up on the router to send everything unknown out on the outside interface, S1/0.

My problem is....All i thought i would have to do is set up my PC's on the inside ethernet with the IP default gateway of the inside ethernet address. After that all requests for the internet would be passed out natted through S1/0?

But i cannot get my pc's to get internet access even when i set the internet options, connections, lan settings to the ip address of the the inside ethernet address?

Can anyone advice on perhaps how i could troubleshoot?

Cheers,

Grasscutter.

You'll need an access list defining your hosts:

access-list 1 permit your_lan_address_range

Then you'll need this:

ip nat inside source list access-list number interface overload

Then do a: show ip nat translations
