How do I configure the internet interface to be a permanently up state. I noticed it goes down on shutdown of the router.

When you have issued the no shutdown command to bring the port on line exit back to priviledged mode and save to the startup-config by issuing the command copy running-config startup-config.

Thanks. Maybe I did not issue the wr command yesterday. I have just shut down the router and powered it up again and all worked ok. Is it still necessary to issue the "copy running-config startup-config" command. Won't the wr command do the same?
