how come it takes a f****** long time before:
1. Outlook starts up and
2. It takes so long before i can continue to a site when i press a button.

Plz help me out cause i'm so sick of it!

a number of reasons could explain such a slow access, from a heavily fragmented harddrive to a overloaded cache folder to a virus or misbehaved program.

a friend of mine discovered they had 'ad-ware' loaded, that was sending out information (heavily) when online that was causing the problem. after removing it they were amazed at the speed increase.

try Ad-ware
to see if you have something like that running

also try OptOut
another adware scanner

goodluck

I think I have the same problem - I type in a url or click on a link and IE 5.5 takes up to 2 minutes to load it. I can see there is no modem activity during this period. Its OK under win2000, but shocking under 98 or ME.
Does anyone know why this is?
