Internet Explorer subconscious advertising? I don't know, but have you every noticed that when your on one page, and you press the "back" button, that one of the ads on the previous page pops up in the center of your screen??? The relation of the ad that pops up seems to have nothing to do with where the add is on the page.

Does anybody have a good explanation of this?

if you mean a popup window that activates upon you pressing the back button, it is simply some javascript that opens a new window when you press your browsers back button. Clever advertising really... James Goodman

no, The ad I'm talking about is a regular banner ad. and it is only visible from the time you push back, to the time the other page loads, usally less then a second. If you have a really fast connection, you won't even knotice it, unless you try really hard.. I've seen it all over the place. I looks like it just takes the html for the add, pushes it into the centre of the screen while the other page is responding, the makes it vanish. It has NO pop-up window around it. It is JUST the banner ad.

Any more ideas? If you don't believe me, try using a dialup connection, like19.9k or 24.4k. That is what I get. Some times tha ad is visible for 2-4 seconds, when it is really slow.

You're getting sleepy... very sleepy. There are a number of software packages designed to crush unwanted advertisements. I want you to search the Internet for a free-ware solution.

You will wake up when I click the "Submit Post" button. You will remember nothing.

The ad stompters, crushers, wipers, help. But even when I turn off pictures in the options, of what to show, the add still shows as a blank picture, one that needs to be loaded, you know, with the little red, green circle, and blue triangle?

I don't mind the silly add thing, I just wanted to know who or why ms signed this contract with. It is especial noticible using altavista, and even this site.

maybe you have a virus or something.i never notice anything like that and i have a very slow connection also.may also be a bug in the version you are using.try using a different version.where did it come from like your internet provider.they may have added something to it.

Ok, so I must be the only person with it? I've used other computers, and it appears on them too..... Mabey its the way I browse, but I doubt it.

Since no one else seems to have it, then I"ll just leave it the way it is.
