Like most folks that are still running IE 6.0 (versus IE 7, Navigator, Mozilla, Firefox, whatever have you) there is certainly the tendency to have multiple windows open at the same time (all IE,). What's happening is I may have one IE window open looking at, say, my Fantasy League team's progress and then I attempt to look at an individual player's stats in the afore mentioned seperate window (IE6 SP2)...no problem. The moment I attempt to look at another player's stats (different team, so everything should be different) in that same window (no new screen should open) I receive (in the bottom left hand corner of the taskbar) "error in page". This usually lead to having to close the existing "extra open window" and then launch a new one.

Is this Java Script related or something else? I have access to 2 other PCs that don't behave this way (both running XP Pro SP2, IE6.0 SP2) but I can't quite figure what's going on and would rather not have to close one IE window and force another new IE window to open in order to see what I want to see.

Thanks in advance

Clicking on the error part in the lower left hand corner should point out the error. There could be a myriad of things going on from basic poor configured browser to browser helper objects(BHO) that causes this behavior. I would say start by resetting the browser to it's default settings by clicking on tools, going to internet options, clicking on advanced and going to Reset Internet Explorer settings. After doing that, restart your browser and test, if not you'll have to do some real troubleshooting. Check the script to see if it has some indication of what the trouble is, it could be java is broke. the next step could be running hijackthis and posting a logfile here. On a side note, have you tried browsing other sites with similar setups or is it just your fantasy football site that gives this error. Isolating a single site versus blaming your OS or browser could expedite your troubleshooting efforts.

This is a handy fix for IE6 problems.
Internet Explorer Fix

You Cannot Open New Internet Explorer Window or Nothing Happens After You Click a Link

There is the option in IE/ Tools/ Internet Options/ Advanced/ Reuse Windows for launching shortcuts.
This specifies that when you click a Web link in an Internet-aware program, such as Outlook Express, and there is already an Internet Explorer window open, the Web page appears in the open browser window instead of opening a new window.

How to Configure Internet Explorer to Have More Than Two Download Sessions

Make sure your options in IE/ Tools/ Internet Options/ Advanced are correct.

Uncheck the boxes for "Install on Demand" for IE and Other programs (two boxes).

Try running temporarily with the third box "Enable Third Party Browser Extensions" unchecked and see how this goes.

"This specifies that you want to disable features you installed for use with Internet Explorer that may have been created by companies other than Microsoft.
If you encounter problems with Internet Explorer that you cannot resolve, you can use this option to help determine if third-party features are causing the problems without uninstalling the feature. You must restart Internet Explorer after turning this option on or off.
