A friend of mine is running a Gateway with WINXP home. It was running really slow and she asked me to take a look at it.
I ran Spybot s&d and cleaned out a load of spybots and adware and exploits. Then I ran msconfig and unchecked everything accept ms task and systray.
The computer then worked fine, but on Monday my friend called me with a new problem. After examing the box I found that IE6 would nolonger function nor would the file browser. I tried re-installing IE6, but it still does not function. when I try to open IE or My Computer, it gives me the hourglass and then does nothing.
MSN Explorer works fine, but I need to get IE functioning again so that my friend can browse her files.
