Is there a way to get a COMPLETE download of 6.0? I have a corrupt load on an employees personal machine and need to reload it fresh.

If this does not work she will have to purchase a copy of XP as she bought the machine second hand and the recovery disks were not with it.

Thanks!

Download the normal ie6setup.exe to e.g a directory c:\downloads

Hit start menu - run
and enter the following command.

Gives option of download the whole kabang.

run command:

C:\Downloads\ie6setup.exe" /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E

The run cmd must be quoted.
e.g.

"C:\Downloads\ie6setup.exe" /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E"

syar2003 is correct.
MS Knowledgebase Article Q257249 explains these switches in detail.

Note: Double quotation marks around the variable #e are required, because #e designates the source path, including executable, of the Ie5setup.exe or Ie6setup.exe as appropriate.

/c:"ieXwzd.exe /d /s:""#E"

The following is an explanation of the command line switches used:

/d - Downloads Internet Explorer for the current platform only. However, if you would like to download all platforms, you can use the /d:1 switch value to get all platforms. There are only two values for this switch, /d and /d:1.

/s:""<#e>"" - Designates the source path of Ie5setup.exe. The ""<#e>"" value refers to the full path and name of the .exe file. Note that two pairs of double quotation marks must surround the complete path statment.

Would this work?

You can reinstall IE in Windows XP by clicking Start, Run and entering the following command:

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 c:\windows\inf\ie.inf

You will need to have your XP CD available (Perhaps any XP CD would suffice?). If you re-install remember to update it.
