Hi,
I have a AOL 9.0 that appears to be the default internet browser. I want to make IE 6.0 the primary browser.

I have checked all the settings in IE, restored default settings, but it still won't resolve any webpages. I get the "The page cannot be displayed" error.

Anythoughts would be helpful.
THanks Dualie

Hey Dualie,

I had that same issue that when I was logged into AOL that I couldn't use my IE browser also. AS I cannot remember the full fix I did but I know it was a setting in AOL that was overriding the original IE settings.

Thanks for the quick response. I assumed that AOL was the issue but did not think of the Parental settings. GOOD ONE!

Also, the support.microsoft links were very helpful.

THanks and I'll let you know how I make out.

Best,
Stef

Go to Start, Set Program Access & Defaults. Under choose a default web browser, pick IE.

Hope that helps,

Erik
