All of a sudden IE7 doesn't work. I don't use IE much, so when there is a web page that works only in IE, I use the IE Tab extension in Firefox.

But I noticed that when I switched to IE Tab, I saw a blank IE page. So I turned on IE7 directly, and I get the same thing. IE opens up, and the tab in IE7 says "connecting", but the page remains blank - nothing happens. Firefox works just fine.

Anyone have any idea of what's going on? Is there a way to reinstall IE7?

If you want to reinstall IE7, you must first uninstall it. Go to Control Panel> Add or Remove Programs> then find IE7 in the list of programs and click Remove. IE7 will be uninstalled and will revert back to IE6. Go back to microsoft.com and download IE7 or get it from windows update to reinstall it.

These articles may help you solve the issue without reinstalling.

Joey, thanks for the quick reply, but the problem doesn't exist anymore.

Before I sent the post to the forum, I reset the PC just to make sure the problem was real, and when the PC came on again, the problem was still there, so I sent the post.

But as I was looking at the links that you sent me (on Firefox) I noticed a couple of other things that were suspicious - the Gmail Notifier couldn't be activated, the Norton AntiVirus wouldn't scan, and the Control Panel couldn't be turned on.

So a few minutes ago I turned the PC off, and then on again (not reset) and guess what? Now everything (including IE7 seems to be working again! Until the next mysterious Windows problem, thanks again for your help.
