I have an issue with my Internet Explorer 6 not allowing me to fully open a website. I double-click on the IE icon and it trys to load (for my computer it's Yahoo) the website - but once it's fully loaded, it automatically closes the window and all I have is my desktop. I have no problem accessing the internet through the Microsoft Money application or, being a gamer, through any of the games I have that access the internet for multiplayer games. Does anyone know of this problem and how to resolve it?

Try updating your ie first through windows update (it should be a shortcut on your start menu). Do you have any messengers? if so, open it up, go to your mail from there, and go to tools\windows update and see if you get the same problem.

I'm on Windows XP Pro - sorry about the wrong forum. When this problem first originated a month ago, I received all the latest updates and even downloaded the newest version of IE6 but this didn't work for me either. Someone mentioned that it may be a security issue that is blocking the websites, but I looked into my security and it's set to low. It's strange that I can access the internet from other applications but can not use IE directly.

Try Downloading some software that removes spyware.

I use Ad-Aware 6.0

I had a lot of problems with IE 6 until I started to Ad-Aware.

I want to thank Rhombus65 for his excellent advice. Using Ad-Aware 6.0 resolved ALL my problems. Thanks Again!
