Internet Explorer 6 on SP2 won't open

Hello,

I have two workstations in my office which will not open MS internet explorer. When the icon is doubled clicked the hourglass appears for a moment and then returns to the cursor.

Ad-aware, spybot search and destroy, and mcafee antivirus have all been run and have nothing interfering with the software.

Is there something else that I can try?

What happens when you click on Iexplore.exe in this equivalent location?

C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer

Do you have any other Iexplore.exe floating around your machine, you shouldn't have?

Make sure your options in IE/ Tools/ Internet Options/ Advanced are correct.

Try running temporarily with the third box "Enable Third Party Browser Extensions" unchecked and see how this goes.

If you encounter problems with Internet Explorer that you cannot resolve, you can use this option to help determine if third-party features are causing the problems without uninstalling the feature. You must restart Internet Explorer after turning this option on or off."


If that stops your errors, you will know where the trouble is.
