Internet Error

We have a W2K machine on our network that cannot get to anything on the internet including pinging a valid external IP address. This started sometime on friday and we are getting a windows error that says

'an exception occurred while trying to run "c:\winnt\system32\msg121.copy.dll", umonitor.'

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or how to fix it? I have tried reappliying service pack 4 and that did not help.

I believe you're infected with a particular bothersome malware called "Look2Me."

I had to go through the iterations of purging this garbage from a machine just last week. I think you'll find the instructions here helpful:

Just be SURE you follow them verbatim. This piece of malware is particularly tenacious, and if you leave even scrap of it...

By any chance -- Do you run an application called Reuters --a Live Quote application system? Seems like I've had that problem before and I re-installed it and it resolved that issue?
