Hi Guys

Any ideas on this one?:

Windows XP Pro PC connected to Cable internet. Using native VPN client to connect via L2TP over IPsec to VPN termination point (draytek). VPN connects ok but when disconnected, the internet just times out - no http! I can still ping external domain names and ip addresses but no web. I need to restore XP to get it back again.

What's going on??

cheers!!

Go into the properties of your VPN connection. Go to the networking tab. Select TCP/IP and select properties. Click on the Advance button. Under the General Tab, if you have an option "use default gateway on remote network" uncheck it and see if it fixes your problems.

Also check under the tools/internet options menu in internet explorer. Under connections tab, make sure that Never Dial a Connection is selected and Automatic Settings is selected under Lan Settings.

Should work.
