I am not sure if this is an xp issue but here it is.

My boss uses cable modem for internet at home. He took his laptop on the road and connected via dial up.

Now when he gets home he is unable to connect to his cable modem for internet. He says it looks like there is a connection but he is unable to get to any web sites. It looks like the computer is still looking for a dial up connection.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.[lipstick2]

Open IE, tools, Internet options.
Go to the Connections tab.
Put a mark in the radio button for: Dial whenever a network connection is not present.
Restart IE. Cheers,
Jim
