If I am lucky to get a connection at all, it drops within a minute. PCs connected to the same router have no problems staying connected. The Browser indicates that it is opening a particular IP address but eventually I get “the page cannot be displayed”. When it connects it is very fast with no problems.

MetaFrame XPe – 2000 server
2 NICs (one is for Citrix terminals distributed by a switch/hub the other for Internet access via cable modem distributed by a router)

Thank you kindly.

If you log directly into the Citrix server console (not through ICA or RDP), can you browse?

Have you looked at the routing tables and default routes on the Citrix server? (at the command prompt: route print)

Thank you for your response. No i cannot browse continuously directly on the server. I have also replaced NICs and placed in different PCI slots. Unfortunatly my knowledge about roune print information is very limited. Other PC's contected directly to the router works fine. My configuration is as follows.

internet nic (obtain automatically)
IP 192.168.0.100
Subnet Mask 255....
Gateway 192.168.0.1 (router)

citrix nic
IP 192.168.100.100
Subnet Mask 255....
Gateway 192.168.100.1
DNS server 192.168.100.10

Only one server in workgroup mode Win2ksp4

any help is much appreciated.

Sounds like a routing problem to me. Probably caused by the 2 nics in the card.

Don't know how your network is setup but i think having gateways on both your nics might be the problem. What gateways do your normal PC's use for internet access?

I think I got it. I made the citrix gateway the same as the internet's nic ip address.

Thank you all for the help.

Think you might find that offline folder caching may also cause this.
