After having some problems with Microsoft 2000 SR-1, I decided to un-install and re-install the software. Un-installing went well, but when I went to re-install, i got an "Internal Error 2889: Please contact product support for assistance" error.
Having jumped to the conclusion that it was the installer giving me trouble, I downloaded and installed a new copy of the installer from Microsofts Windows download site. I continue getting the same error message.
I looked on TechNet, and it mentions that the error is native to Installer 1.1 only.
Why didn't installing a new installer work?

Have you seen this. It says that either your Rich20.dll file is corrupt or you have the Nimda virus. Be sure you have the latest virus definitions before scanning your system.

Regards Please provide feedback, good or bad.
And I'm always open to new suggestions or ideas.

Regards

Ajnin,
Gee, thanks for getting back so quick.
The info makes sense, and I will remove Nimda right away.
Thanks again. If it ain't broken, play with it till it breaks.
