Hello all,
I'm upgrading from sbs 4.5 domain to sbs 2003 and while doing a couple of demo installation it recommends to create an internal DNS name with the .local extension.
My question is: Should I call the Internal DNS the same as my registered domain but with the .local? Even though i'm not hosting a web server for my domain.
Do the internal and external domain have to be name related?
EI: External - myregistereddomain.com
Internal - myregistereddomain.local
Or they can be two completely different names?
EI: External - myregistereddomain.com
Internal - anyname.local
What if later i decide to host my website, is there going to be an issue with any of the namings above?
Read an article a while ago that recommended to stay away from the .local naming for the internal
If i'm not too clear above my questions please be patient and let me know that i can try to clarify them for you.
Thanks a lot,
