I need help setting up an intercom group.
This group will be for announcement of IS issues.
System configuration = Merdian with opeion 11

note group 1 and 5 are ring, group 2 is in use as a voice. your looking for a group that is no on that list.. ie group 3 or 4 on that list is vacant

then on the sets do an echg

the 1st added member of a group determines if hte group is voice or ring.. voice rings one then goes handsfree announce forward. that cannot be used on analog stations. the posted change makes key 8 icm 101 member 62.. the dn on that station is 1962, i usually match the last two digits of the icm with the dn on the set..

From your post it sounds like you want something that will break in on everyone's phone simultaneously with an announcement and traditional intercom is not going to do that. As always, JohnPoole has provided flawless instruction on how to set up intercom but it doesn't sound like that's what you really want. If this is correct, how many people are you talking about? Not that such a feature even exists that I am aware of, but maybe we can figure out a workaround.

best way to page a small group of users, any digital set with aaa in class... one scr on the set.. works like a 1 watt paging system.. i've used the spkr leads as in input to a small amp.. vEEEEEEEEEEEEery poor sound, but it's free

I would like the functionality to make announcements to a group of employees in the IS Department. (Regarding Server issues)
But this announcement can be made from any person in the group.

Can I assume that sending them a voicemail via a distribution list is not an option? How many people? If it's only a few and they're all in one room then John's suggestion is excellent and I may even try that here in my own office.

no, you can't do area page. a single station with aaa is as close as you can get.. a small external paging system with an acod from any phone is as close as you come

here's a late thought, feature called group call. program a pilot number, list the dn's and your done.. dial the pilot number and all numbers ring until everyone answers...i've seen it used to contact 8 security post at a preset time each shift.. sorta like a group wake up.. i installed it there for er reasons, sorta a nortel all call.. if you need the code for that let me knwo

I think group call only works after everyone answers, right JohnPoole? if you, me and radarman are in someone's group call and only you and me answer I don't think the caller can talk to just us...but I'm home now and don't have my MerlCore CD. I still think your first suggestion was wonderful about the AAK. I'm seriously thinking of putting a phone in my area so that boss can use it to find whichever PC guy he's looking for, rather than always calling me to ask who is around...

your right on that, it's ois a conf, but everyone needs to answer. the only time i've used it was for a user that wanted people to be at a certain place at a certain time.. security people, scheduled in house groups calls, etc.
