I have 2 8700 servers running 3.1 and have to swing the power over to new UPS's tonight so I am going to shutdown the standby server.. move the power, bring it back up and then do an interchange. Is there anything special I need to do other than click Interchange on the maintenance page? Also, if I have a current alarm, will the servers still interchange?

I think you got a good plan. Your going to need to busy the server before you do the shutdown command. Then when you bring it up I think you need to release it.

I don't see why they wouldn't interchange with an active alarm.

I think it depend on how severe the alarm is and which server it's on, if it's a major on the standby it may not interchange as the server is not healthy.
You can of course overide this with the forced interchange box.

Do the delayed shutdown from the options. It lets all the processes to close nicely.

lever.

so the standby server needs to be busied prior to shutting down?
