Hello,

I am doing a conversion from Interbase to SQL 2K. I was wondering if anyone can give me any pointers as what to look out for. My biggest challenge will be to convert over some of the triggers & stored procedures. I have looked into a utility that will convert over the tables, indexes, & constraints. However, I don't believe things like the triggers & stored procedures will come with it. So, my guess is that I would have to take the metadata from Interbase & run it (with a little modification) in SQL Server. Does this sound about right? Am I taking the right approach? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Eric

Not knowing anything about Interbase, I would say you're on the correct track. In your shoes, I would script everything from Interbase just to be safe. That way, if it doesn't make it to SQL Server 2005, you have the script that you can alter without having to worry about getting back into the Interbase server if it was already decommissioned.
