I have an ATX box with a Elitegroup K7AMA mainboard, AMD 1.2 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, plus a scanner and 2 HP printers.
I am runing WIN 2000 Pro and haven't had any problems except that the Word Perfect suite sometimes generates errors or otherwise acts strangely.

I often download or buy apps and uninstall others. One day I suddenly got an error message saying that "The registry information is missing. Please run the Interbase Configuration Utility". I have never installed Interbase so one of my apps apparently did. I think that when I uninstalled one of them that used IB it took IB with it (IB is not mentioned in the Registry). I get this message at each bootup.

All things considered, the apps I use frequently all work OK but since I have a hundred or so on my machine, I hesitate to go through all of them to find which one(s) don't work.

Do you have any suggestions? Do you know which popular apps are based on IB and where can I find the IB Configuration Utility?

Thanks
Charles

Delphi installs interbase, and i think the BDE will install it too. Any chance you are a programmer or have recently installed a delphi written Database based program?
