Intel Pro 1000 XT Gigabit error

When trying to access the properities of this NIC, it tries to access it but it just shuts down and then I receive the following error in the Event Viewer:

The application, explorer.exe, generated an application error The error occurred on 08/07/2002 @ 08:54:29.000 The exception generated was c0000005 at address 76F3011C (InvokeDunFile)

I have been unsuccessful in tracking down a solution. Any suggestions?

Can only think of the normal stuff. Have you tried installing the newest driver? Has this always happened or is it a new issue?

Try the card in a different slot if it still doesn't work try another machine this will tell you whether it is the server or card playing up.

Not much help I know but its a start?

What is the sys spec and other hardware are you running?

I have noticed lately that some of the Intel Pro1000T cards we have installed are acting strangely.
We have installed two cards in different machines, and they have mysteriously disappeared from view. Also, I think they are the reason for these 2 machines to always crash with hardware errors.
I have taken one of the cards out of a machine and used the onboard Intel Pro100T and have had no problems.
I've a feeling that there's a compatibility problem with the 1000T cards.
Just to let you know, you're not alone.

We do have an Onboard NIC and it's still not working properly...We installed the latest drivers but we cannot get into the properties of it. Also, it's not giving an error in the even viewer - run proset diagnostics......
