bios no.=4M4UEOX1.11A for PBell Intel no.=4M4UEOXI.83A Intel says all numbers must match for bios upgrade.. What is the differance and will the upgrade work.. I haven't been able to find anywhere to upgrade from PBell but a bunch of worthless stuff that they have put there knowing that it's worthless. Intell stuff works good, just no help.. Any ideas would be appreciated.....

Packard Hells were named that for a reason. You probably would be better served getting a new case/PS, MB, and memory and building a replacement.

Thanks for the advice Ed but my SSI that I paid into for 50 years dosen't allow for such things, I'm lucky to have what I've got. Any way the thing works fine except I get a notification every once in a while that I need to upgrade my BIOS..I'm running Win 98 and if it wasn't for the fact that PB seems to have screwed up the program with all of there crapp "I deleted all I know how to" it works good compared to some of the others I read about in Tec-Tips. Near as I can tell it's mostly intel products.. I have a liteon 301 cd/rom I installed a Liteon 24102B CD/RW a floppy a Epson 440 printer and a visioneer 4800 USB scanner and it all seems to work except I keep getting things saying that I need to upgrade my BIOS.. Oh yea 128MBs Ram.. ALL I NEED "I THINK" is my BIOS upgraded.. will it work?

If it matches, yeah. Understand about the SSI. I'm 11 months into it myself.
How about looking for a used computer at goodwill or salvation army?
The last 11 cheap upgrades I did were using M/Bs and power supplies I scrounged from used computers I got for $5 each. So I know the deals are there, you just have to look for them.
I have successfully avoided PB for most of their production run. In fact I've avoided most of the propritory design systems. Who needs the grief. Ed Fair
