If someone knows why, I'd be thankful. Intel D845WN motherboard hangs on post. Will not boot past Intel splash screen. You can reboot the system and sometimes it will boot fine but that only happens about 25% of the time. I'm leaning towards memory or a power source.

Any ideas??

Thanks in advance. WMH

Could be anything, first step is to check and reseat RAM, all cards and connectors and then if the problem persists remove everything except minimal RAM, CPU and video and see if it boots then. If so replace everything one at a time. If not try another power supply and video card. All things are possible except skiing through a revolving door.

If the RAM were not seeted properly, I would be getting "beep codes", if it were a card problem chances are the system would not turn on or it would have hang-up situations in the O.S. I have spoken with 7 different techs and they all seem to agree it is a bad stick of RAM.
FYI to anyone who is also having this same problem.

Thanks for the help Mugla, good trouble shooting ideas. WMH

FYI, A bent and mangled power cord can and will cause boot problems. Problem solved.

Thanks again for your advice Mugla. WMH
