Howdy,
I have just changed to a PIII 800 on an intel 815EPchipset mainboard (asus cusl2-c). When i bought it, i was told that this chipset needed a good graphics card in order to avoid troubles with the graphics processing. I decided not ot buy a new graphics card for now & to try & make do with my existing one (some crappy SIS6326 thing). Needless to say, I now get bad freezes at times, whereby the mouse stops responding & the computer has to be reset. Obviously I suspect a bottleneck is being introduced by my graphics card, & the processor is loading the card to the point of it overheating & freezing the computer (the graphics chip gets exceedingly hot, whilst the cpu temp never goes above 55C). It is especially prone to this when under high graphics strain (such as the ZD business graphics test). Therefore my question is, has anyone else had a problem similar to this, & if so did they solve it????
