I changed a BIOS setting relating to the Integrated Video settings and now when the pc starts up all you see are vertical lines. They appear right away so I am unable to go back into the bios to change it back. If you let it boot it sounds like its trying to boot but the display then turns to criss crossing grey lines. The motherboard book says to clear the cmos just reboot the computer.
This is an ASUS k8s-mx board with integrated video, sound, lan.

thanks,

obliviux,

The motherboard book should also indicate the location of the "re-set CMOS" jumper and the procedure.

Inure the PC is off and take all normal static precautions.

Locate the jumper block (3 pin) note the position of the jumper, move it to the optional position for approx 5 sec. Move jumper back to original position. This should re-set the CMOS to default values.

Hope This Helps

clear the cmos, the manual should inform you how to do it. It's simple you just need to be careful anytime working inside the case.

Thank You for posting back with your status.

It is always good to know what the outcome ends up being and helps the community.

looks like me and rvnguy were pretty much posting at the same time yesterday , otherwise I wouldn't have just repeated what he/she had already suggested you do. Glad you got it working, nothing worse than a computer that would be better used as bird cage! [wink]
