Hi everybody,
I am using Foxpro for Windows 2.6.

I have an array of about 1,000 items and when I try to access an item, say, MyArray(4), I get the error message "Insufficient memory".

What could be causing this error and what setting do I need to set ?

Thanx,
Phita

While the guys here might be able to answer your question, you should post on the other board for FoxPro versions 1 through 2.6.

Phita,
Previously, I would have recommended you to read "Insufficient Memory in FoxPro for Windows on Fast Computers", at - unfortunately MS killed this article off early in 2000 (they really don't want to support FPW any more - see Discontinued Products
While some or the problems can't be fixed (Filer e.g.), there are workarounds for most of the others. e.g. The listbox problem can be fixed, in some cases, by using the ideas in Paul Lee's FPWListBox file at
The two most important recomendations the article made were to 1) run on a slower computer (150Mhz or less), 2) upgrade to VFP - you decide.

Try to get a array of about 500 and see what happend

One thing to check for: FP will return the same "insufficient memory" error message for both insufficient memory and when you try to create an array of more than 65,000 elements (total elements; IOW, #rows x #columns). Robert Bradley
