Recently I met "Insufficient Memory" Problem in few of my clients System Setup. The problem is described below in detail:

Novel Netware 4.1x server with Diskless workstations.Presently available systems are Acer Pentium 100 Mhz.Base memory availability is 610KB and upper memory availability is 14 KB.Note that EMM386 driver is used in config.sys of all workstations to increase the base memory size . In present systems, the "Insufficient memory"problem is occured but not immediatly, after one or two hours during data entry. But in recently supplied pentium III system, the problem is occured immeditly within 10 mins.
The same above mentioned problem also occured in the WINDOWS 95 workstations. Please note thatthe availablebase memory size in new machines also is 610KB and upper memory is 35 KB.

Kindly help me in solve the problem.

HI

Assumed.. WIN95/WIN98 OS.... and WINDOWS is the system dirctory..... Also assumed, you have sufficient upper memory.... then....

In your config.sys file, I suggest you use the following...
DEVICE=c:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS

If you use EMM386 in the config,.sys, add NOEMS at the end.

This will enable the foxpo to use the foxprox. Also the memory problem will go.

hmmm, only time I have ever had this happen was when
I wasen't using enhanced mode...

make sure you fire your apps up with

foxr prog1.app +X

or prog1.exe +X

Otherswise your app (may)just be using your 610k memory!

Have had it happen on one of our other sites... running
a 386sx 25 with 4 megs...(running a quoting package, which is kinda heavy) but is rare...

You may want to change from Client32 to vlm's, have put that
at all our sites... except for the PII 32+ megs sites..

Check your memlimits in your config.fp

altho I think fox for dos.... under dos takes all available memory...
