I have a pair of 8700s' running CM3.1 at our main site and several G350s' and G700s'. Each remote site has a CO trunk group to be accessed only when dialing 911. We also have a call accounting system (eCAS) that is programmed to email me when someone from any site dials 911 and it will email which site it was dialed from, extension, etc. The problem is the call accounting software will only trigger the email when the call is complete. Most 911 operators want the caller to stay on the call until help arrives. In that scenerio I won't get the email (HR either) until much later. Is there a way to have an alarm triggered so the SNMP server will instantly send me an email when specific digits are dialed?
I thought about doing a digit conversion to a VDN, to a vector that would do something creative that would generate an alarm which would be recognized as a trap and email me. I don't know that I want my 911 routing too complicated to where it could "break". Has anyone done something like this?
