I have a pair of 8700s' running CM3.1 at our main site and several G350s' and G700s'. Each remote site has a CO trunk group to be accessed only when dialing 911. We also have a call accounting system (eCAS) that is programmed to email me when someone from any site dials 911 and it will email which site it was dialed from, extension, etc. The problem is the call accounting software will only trigger the email when the call is complete. Most 911 operators want the caller to stay on the call until help arrives. In that scenerio I won't get the email (HR either) until much later. Is there a way to have an alarm triggered so the SNMP server will instantly send me an email when specific digits are dialed?

I thought about doing a digit conversion to a VDN, to a vector that would do something creative that would generate an alarm which would be recognized as a trap and email me. I don't know that I want my 911 routing too complicated to where it could "break". Has anyone done something like this?

Agreed. We use crisis alert and have cell phone numbers set up as "pagers". I get a phone call when 911 is dialed from any of my 25+ locations, then I just check the "list eme" page to learn who dialed emergency services. We also put CRSS-ALRT buttons on the phones of our Physical Security staff.

Is there a way to test this without using 911? I tried using 411 and went into the ars digit conversion that we have it going to an announcement and made it actually ring my test extension. I never got an alert though. I followed the directions in the Admin guide but either missed something or are using digits in a field that aren't working.

Thanks for the idea though. I think this will work for me if I can get it to work.

Does anybody know how long call info stays in the list emergency calls table? Just curious how long the info stays populated, or if it is somehow defined in system parameters or options.

Some good posts, thanks for the info as well.

Oscar, You need to put ALRT as the call type if you want to test 411.

avayastrongman79, I believe its daily starting at midnight.

Thanks,
