Hi all,

just upgraded from Vfp6 to Vfp7

In Vfp6 Setup Wizard I can ActiveX to insert in my setup program.

How can I insert ActiveX with InstallShield?
I look for Object/Merge but I cant find all controls I see in Vfp.

And what about COM (racmgr32, clireg32 etc)?

Thanks in advance. Andrea C.P.

In order to register a COM server with InstallShield you can right-mouse on the file (once it's in installShield) and go to the advance Properties. You should see the registration properties at the top.

Hi mgagnon,

thanks for your replay.

But in Vfp6, in setup wiz, I have a section where I can select activex controls to insert in my setup.
In Installshield I dont see it.
How can I select controls I'm interested?

Thank you all Andrea C.P.

Since InstallShield is not VFP specific, you will have to manually add the activex yourself and do the same as for the COM servers (ie: specify if InstallShield will register them)

Ok, thanks

Only one question

When I insert controls in my forms I select it by a list but I dont see the name of OCX.

How can I find out it?
Have I to searce it in the registry or there is a easy way?

Which activex is it?
Sometimes it will show the name of the Activex in the OleClass property of the Activex.

Hi mg,

The name in OleClass not ever match the real name of ActiveX, but if I search in the registry for that name I can find it.

Thank you vm Andrea C.P.

Achiado,

I just put the Active Movie control activex on a form, and looked at the OleClass property and I saw:

AMOVIE.ActiveMovieControl2

Achiado,

I just put the Active Movie control activex on a form, and looked at the OleClass property and I saw:

AMOVIE.ActiveMovieControl2

And the name of the Activex is AMOVIE.ocx, that is why I said:
"Sometimes it will show the name of the Activex"

But maybe this is the only one. Sorry for misleading you.
