Hey all
I have a good knowledge of the install of the Meridian systems but I am a bit stumped as to how this works. This is what I have and want to install.M8x24 with DS software with AttendantM12x0 with a CI and DS card in it I also have a C6 to install if that would be easier then the M12x0 for caller ID. Also an M0x16 for down the road if we need more phones. What I am unsure of is how to hook the C6 or M12x0 with caller ID into it.I also have a voice mail mod that i would like to put in but that might be a whole new thread. :)
Any help or even a picture would be a lot of help.

C6 is for 6X16 for 6 lines
C8 is for 8X24 for 8 lines

If you had say 8 lines on the system then you could get away with a C6 assuming your lines are in a pool and people use lines 6 and then 7 to dial out.

If you decide to go with a 12X0 and 1 CII card then program on the reception set with lines:
009 CII
010 CII
011 CII
012 CII
001
002
003
004

Note that you only have 4 lines with CII, if you want more than add a 2nd card.

Or go with both....all depends on how many lines you have?

How many lines do you have?
Is it a C6 or C8?

I should have said 8 then 7 to dial out.

as a added note since you have an 8x24 you will need a 2 or 6 port copper expansion card to add the 12x0 (trunks) or 0x16 (stations) and you vmail will need to be hooked into the station ports (main cabinet or 0x16)

will the c6 work on the 8x24
i thought the c8 was required ,and not just because of line capability, but software(i could be wrong)been so long since i've worked on c6 and c8 units

The C6 will only work on the 616. The M8 will work on either a 824 or 616. Since the M8 is very tough to find I'd go with Curly's suggestion to use caller ID cards in a 12x0.

I only have 3 lines in. I need to know how to configure the M12x0 in admin to use the 4 lines from the CI card in the M12x0.

Also the voicemail unit we are connecting is an application module NT5B74AC-93. It only has 2 RJ11 phone lines coming out of it. How does this connect to the main system?

Are there schematics that show this setup anywhere?

Again thanks for all your help!

Add lines 009, 010 and 011 to what ever sets, assuming you use the first 3 lines on the card.

If your asking how to get into programming etc then call a vendor to do this or to train you.

Can you assist on connecting the voicemail application module? As stated it has 2 phone cords running out of it.

if the 2 cords are not the modem of the nam you can connect them to any ports of the phone system

Thanks ALOT! They are not the modem, we will give it a shot and let you know.

Sorry forgot to answer that one.

Its 2 channels per port so 2 ports= 4 channels which = 4 users in mail at same time.

Normaly I put those on the last 2 ports i.e. 131 and 132 and I change the DN to something like 300 or 400 etc.

Hey, so looks like all is working, only problem I have now is that when I punch down the incoming lines I get no dial tone, it i plug stright into the main KSU then it works but then I would have no caller id. I have set it up to use line 009 010 and 011 and when I select the line it takes a second and says "Not in service". Also I did notice that it doesnt disply on the screen that it is line 009 that you selected it just says the time and date. But when I select the main ksu 001 it says Line 001. I have done botton info and it does say that it is Line 009, just not when I select it.
Thanks for any input.

Did you connect the trunk module to the uppermost expansion port?

Brian Cox

The trunk is connected to port 3 on my ksu should it be connected to 8?

Man it was that easy!! You guys are great!!! One last thing (well I hope :)) is there a way to completly reset the vmail, it was pulled from a call center and has all the mail boxes set up.

You can loose key codes by doing a reinstall but they could be recovered by an authoized vendor with Nortel KRS site access.

F983/login/1 /enter password

Passwords not allowed in forum, see Setup and Operation Guide for any Norstar vmail.

Note the details on the software card if its a Flash vmail.
They had a version called Flash Lite....once you did a reinstall you lost mailboxes and CCR etc.
Flash lite can be upgraded to full version via keycode.

How do I get this password if I do not have it, I have done a reset of the admin password is that that password?

Hey guys i would just like to thank you all for your help, everything is up and running good. :)
