I need to install win 2k but I have "ME" on the PC now.
ME will not let me up grade. the only way I can get it to load is as a second operarting system and this is not what I'm looking for.
Can anyone help me.

You can install W2k into the same partition (boot from the disk) and it should give you a dual boot system. You can then delete all the WinME files and remove the entry from the boot menu.

There's no place like 127.0.0.1

I do have the install disc for win 2k pro

The best thing to do is backup all your data either on to CD, another hard disk or tape etc.

Format your hard disk and start again.

Set your BIOS to boot from CD and insert your 2K CDROM.

Format the hard disk during the installation to NTFS and follow all the on-screen instructions.

The best thing to do is make sure you download all the drivers for you hardware that you will need for Windows 2K before you start the install.

Obviously you will then have to re-install all your software that is currently on your system, but you will end up with a much cleaner install rather than dual-booting and then deleting Multiple Errors (ME).
