I need to find out if anyone has ever had any problems installing the .Net SDK on a PC running Windows 2000 Server as my boss won't let me install anything that he feels is unnecessary on to our web server after we had a few problems installing service pack 4 about a month ago.

Until I can convince him that it is perfectly safe to install I am stuck writing ASP the good old fashioned way!

Please help.

Andy

I have the .NET SDK running on my 2k box (SP3), and I haven't had any issues with it (...yet... ;)). If you work for a web development company, showing your boss the possibilities for productivity increases using .NET should be reason enough on it's own to go ahead with the install...

Thanks for replying,

I think my boss sees .Net as something that might help the developers but isn't really a necessity at the minute to the way the site works (I work for a manufacturing company by the way and the site is used by our worldwide network of dealers).

I want it installed to that we can use object Oriented code etc. What are the best arguments I can use to suggest to him that it is actually a necessity from a business point of view?
