I recently found out whoever installed SQL Server 7.0 here didn't install SQL Mail. Unfortunately, we now need SQL Mail, but reinstalling SQL Server is NOT an option.

I need to know if there is a way to install ONLY SQL Mail.

I think it's possible, but I also need to prove to the 'guys upstairs' it's going to be safe... company critical info, etc...

Does anyone know where I can find documentation that would explain 1) How to perform this operation. 2) How safe it is to our current data to do so. ???

Thanks in advance.

You can not update SQL Server without reinstalling it. I had a lot of problems because of it, but there is nothing to do :(. John Fill
