I have a windows 2000 server test box we loaded sql server 7.0 enterprise on. It runs fine, then we get our production server ready which is also windows 2000 server (not advanced) and it wont load due to a version conflict.
It will load the client just not the server.

If we try to load on windows 2000 advanced server it goes fine.

Anybody have an idea on what gives. Go Canucks! (rabid Vancouver Canucks Fan)

Found the answer dont know why though. We took multiple copies of win2k server and installed on the same machine identically. Some of the CD's allowed the setup to complete some did not. So it appears to be a bug in the setup of sql server 7.0 enterprise. Anyone else experience this? Microsoft was playing dumb to the whole thing so we just labeled the CD's that worked as sql capable.
