We are preparing to install Sharepoint on our Windows2000 server. Any particular advice that anyone has before we venture down this road ?

Installing Sharepoint

I installed it with no problem. Windows 2K server running SQL 7. Running IIS
Setup as a New Sharepoint if you can. Try to always edit with the broswer if you can. Modding pages with other authoring tools may cause the built in editing tools to no longer work.
Do not mod custom views,but you can set background and layout from Front Page.
Backup your SQL often.
Use NT authentication when Possible
This is new to me, but Email if you have questions, I will try to answer from my experiences.
