Hi All,

I need to install Oracle 9i client on my users' machines, but I do not want to an administrator installation because well they don't need it. The only other choices are custom and I believe developer. If I do a custom installation I am not sure what are all the components I need to install for a typical user who is not a programmer/developer. Any ideas where I can find that? Or any clue. I read throught the installation notes for the custom option did not provide any useful info.

thanks in advance!

To minimise your hassle, M, would it hurt to simply do a developer's install? If your users have only CONNECT role privileges, then they cannot actually use any developer-installation modules.

Otherwise, if you want to determine the definitive minimal install for users, then I'd contact Oracle Tech Support, logging a Technical Assistance Request (TAR) that requests specifically what you should specify in a Custom install that would accommodate your users specific needs.
