Hi,
I am trying to install oracle 10g on Solaris 10. I am getting an error that the os is 5.10 and not supported by oracle 10g.
Is it possible to install 10g or even 9i on solaris 10 on intel?
The one i downloaded from oracle corp. is not working.
Thanks
I don't know Oracle 10g, but I guess it is roughly similar to 9i.
And I saw that Oracle's Installer has flawed checks regarding operating system prerequisites. (Not accepting the latest version of Tru64 Unix in my case)
I don't know if your OS/Oracle combination will work, sorry.
But I know you can switch off these checks - at your own risk !!
Start Oracle Installer like this:
./runInstaller -ignoreSysPrereqs
This worked with Tru64 Unix V5.1B and Oracle Installer 10.1.0.2.0
If you decide to give it at try:
Good luck!
Thanks for your reply. Yes it did work and database is up and running now.
Oracle does not support solaris 10. There is not much difference between 9 and 10 as far as installation goes.
Thanks
