Hi all,
Recently I installed Sun's Java (Latest version) and when I restarted my Windows NT 4, SP6a server, it came up with the error message "Initialisation of the dynamic link library C:\Winnt\System32\Ddraw.dll failed, The process is terminating abnormally".
I rebooted my server, but the problem still persists, and when I try to load websites that require the Java runtime, Internet explorer crashes.
I have read various articles about fixing this, but none seem to help, they seem to advise that the ddraw.dll tries to occupy the same memory space as the Java console, causing the problem.
Apparently updating direct x fixes this problem, I am unsure of the version of direct x on my server, I have noticed also that Microsoft states that the latest version is not supported by NT4.
I would appreciate any input.
Thanks for reading,
Luke.
