Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone else has sucessfully installed Exchange 5.5 SP4 on Windows 2000 Server? I am having some "issues". The install of 2000 server was easy and I installed it on a clean box -- no upgrade. Then Exchange even went seemlessly, but I am seeing some events in the event viewer that are failures regarding "cannot log on to (and then the persons mailbox). The funny thing is I can move mailboxes and then I can connect to the mailbox on the new server just fine, but the weird part is when I send a message it seems to sit in the outbox even when I do a send and receive. The source of the Event is MSExchangeISPrivate. It says it cannot log on. Hmmm. Am I doing something wrong with the synchronization?

Thanks,
Wes H

I've installed 5.5 on 2000 machines that were just member servers in an NT domain just fine.

Your mention of moving mailboxes and synchronization though makes me wonder what your complete setup is like though.

Thanks for the reply. I have my exchange 5.5 server as another server on my "site". I joined an existing exchange site when I created it. So what I am doing is moving mailboxes from one the old server to the new one, and when all is done, I want to take the old server offline. Make sense? Is this the best way to do things?
