Hello. Is it possible to install Exchange 2000 on Windows 2003 Active Directory? Do you need a connector? Right now I have 1 machine running 2003 Active Directory and the second machine running 2000 member server on which I'm trying to install exchange 2000. It gives me the error that it can't find windows 2000 AD. Can someone give me the procedure for this?
Thanks.

You cannot install exchange 2000 on a windows 2003 server. You can install Exchange 2000 on a Win2K member server in a domain with a Windows 2003 DC.

Well, I'm trying to install Exchange 2000 on the Windows 2000 server. The windows 2000 server is a member server in a Windows 2003 Domain. When I try to install the Exchange, I get an error saying that it can't find Windows 2000 AD.

Hi Kgrinberg.
Admittedly, this is not something I have done myself, but have read articles about and researched. I have dug up the following that may be of use, if not perhaps more suggestions will appear on this forum.
Is this a new 2003 domain, or are you introducing a new 2003 dc into an existing forest. If so, check out this link

The article below gives information on preparing a e2k server to run in 2003 AD

Hope some of this info is useful

Still not sure how to make exchange 2000 run on Windows 2003 AD. Does anyone know?

Did you run Forestprep and domainprep yet?

No, I did not run them. You have to run these on the windows 2003 server? Are they part of installed files or seperate on the disk?
