I have two brand new 3560s and need to link them via a SPF Patch Cable (CAB-SFP-50CM=) I have the cable but cannot get the switches to link. When I plug in the cable I get

"2d00h: %PM-4-ERR_DISABLE: gbic-invalid error detected on Gi0/50, putting Gi0/50
in err-disable state"

I have tried a couple of sifferent things with no success.

Has anyone ever linked using this cable?

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Kyle K.

The cause of this is usually due to bad or non-Cisco-approved SFP...

So try to get a new one and try again. Or if you have some spare 3560s and SFP patch cables then you can just do the testing with these.
