I'm trying to install apache 2.0.54 which is replacing an older version previously installed. (old one did work at some point and i have removed the directory /usr/local/apache). New install will be in the default, /usr/local/apache2. I run ./configure, and as it starts going through the process, it reaches a point where it goes into what i see as loop, looking for BerklyDB 4.3....why is looking for this lib or program? How can I skip this part? I have apache working fine on 2 other servers running Suse Linux, no problems during install.

This is where its getting stuck, (maybe) from the looks of it.
checking for Berkeley DB 4.3 in the standard places...
checking db43/db.h usability... no
checking db43/db.h presence... no

checking db4/db.h usability... no

It's okay now. what i thought was a looping problem was not, it keeps checking all versions of BerkleyDB until 1.0, so it looked like it was looping. After about 6 hours of this ./configure...it worked fine. I have it installed now and working normally. This was version 2.0.54 for AIX, so it does work. Got it from apache website.
