Ok I've posted a few messages over the past couple of days, and managed to overcome most of my problems.

Ok heres the set up, we have an existing server which is the domain controller. I am trying to introduce a second server to act as a file server and backup domain controller.

On the new server I am trying to introduce I have set up active directory and it has a trusted relationship to server1.

I have set up the shares on the new server and have tried mapping a drive but I get the following error:

There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.

I have tried pinging the new server by name, and this is slow but resolves after 10 - 15 secs. If I ping by IP it pings straight away.

I guess there is some problem with IP - any ideas?
