Hi all,

I installed an accton cheetah 10/100mbs nic into my windows 98se machine, and when i rebooted it said it couldnt find the following files:

vredir.vxd, dfs.vxd and msnp32.dll

I have replaced two of these files off another windows 98se machine, but the msnp32.dll error message still appears at startup, and i cant get networking on this pc.

should i remove all content of the network section in control panel? reboot, then re-install??

any ideas?

thanks for reading. :)

Yes.

Try removing all the Networking componants in the control panel (Networking) and then re-install everything. This includes Microsoft Networking and File and Print sharing services.... remove it all!

P.S.: Make sure you have the Win98 Setup files near by...
