We have Office 2000 installed and need to install Word 2003 from Office 2003. I need both versions to run side by side. However whenever I do an install it overwrites the previous version wherever I ask it to install. There must be a way of doing this!!
I can't remember exactly the sequence of events but when you install elements of Office 2003 you have the option to keep any previous version installed (apart from Outlook, anyway). Just make sure you check all the options carefully and give a different install location from where you have 2000.
Enjoy,
Tony

That would be very unwise. If you want to have multiple versions of Office always install them earliest-to-latest.

Yep, I believe you screw up the dlls if you install in any other order than first to last. I have 97 through 2003 installed on mine (Excel only, for 97 through 2002), and all can be used be side by side.
