I have a Mitsumi CR-48X9TE cdr it came with acd to install NERO 5. I'm Running 98_se. When I first installed the software about two months ago,it went in without a problem and was working fine.I was told that if I tried NTI CD Maker I would have perfect results without any bad burns(I had a few with nero). I installed it and found that some times it would not find the CDR(drive not ready!)I uninstalled NTI CD MAKER and atemmpted to reinstall NERO.What happens now is a MYSTERY.The different windows pop up first the Install Shield Wizard then the WINDOWS INSTALLER which says that "preparing to install" then closes and nothing else happens. Both IN CD and Nero Media Player are also on this disk and they install with out a hitch.Since I have used this same disk to install nero before I am at a loss as to how to install nero manually.Any help would be appreciated

I don't see any of the gurus helping so maybe I can.. I also have nero 5 ."something or other" had some problems till I learned how to use it "well almost" anyway I would suggest going to find and typing in NTI and see if it can find any leftovers if so delete.. check everything you can think of to insure that you have erased all of the NTI program.. also uninstall incd "again" and the nero player, make sure they are gone by using FIND program. I had to install Nero first and then Incd to make it work properly "I don't know why" But I do remember that untill I completly got rid of Nero from a previous install It would not reinstall and work properly , kept getting "this program has defied the laws of gravity and will be shut down" or something like that.. Hope this helps..jackha

thanks for the try, however I have already tried all that yuo suggest.I searched the registry and deleated evry KEY from NTI and NERO.I searched for all files and also deleated them but the CD would still not install the NERO.I Succesfully copyed the cd and tried to install from the file and got the same results. So,at this point in my life I don't have the time to screw around anymore and will use the newly installed NTI CD MAKER which is working just fine. The only problem I have is that I can't see the volumes of previously recorded multi session disks made with NERO.
